Listomania: 25 More Films of The Decade
Trying to narrow down the 500+ films I’ve seen over the last decade to just 25 is not an easy task.  Giving myself an even 50 makes things a little bit easier.  So assuming that you’ve already seen My Top 25 Films of the Decade, here are 25 more that I love almost (but not quite) as much as the films previously mentioned.  Consider these (alphabetically) 26-50. TOP 50...

Listomania: My Top 25 Films of The Decade
The 00’s were a decade that started out with the handicap of having to follow 1999, probably the most exciting year for film in my lifetime.  Magnolia, Fight Club, Being John Malkovich, Eyes Wide Shut, Three Kings, American Beauty, The Matrix, among others were all released within the span of a few months.  It seemed like every time I went to the theatre I was witnessing something new and...

Listomania: My Top 10 Albums of The Decade
Unlike films which you have an initial reaction to and move on, music is something you can absorb over and over and over for days, weeks, months at a time.  This makes compiling a list of favorite albums much easier (than one for films), the ones you listened to the most were the ones you loved.  There really is no other merit to award them.  Some of these albums were a surprise, while a few had...

Listomania: My Favorite Albums of 2009
1. HANDSOME FURS - FACE CONTROL The first album I really loved this year remains my favorite album of 2009. While I still prefer their debut Plague Park, the songs on this album were built for being played live, which helps considering I saw them 3 times this year. FAVORITE TRACKS: I’m Confused, Thy Will Be Done, Radio Kaliningrad 2. PHOENIX - WOLFGANG AMADEUS PHOENIX Phoenix make it...

Up In The Air | Brothers | A Single Man
Saw 3 films over the weekend, each at one time considered an Oscar hopeful. Though each has its merits I’m not sure which if any will end up on my Top 10 list for 2009. Up In The Air arrived with the most deafening hype, the teaser was brilliant and I had high hopes the film would deliver.  George Clooney is great, but the film itself was uneven and doesn’t cut as deep as I wanted...

Nic Cage: Bad Lieutenant
I love Nicolas Cage but many people do not.  My friend AC and I have been fans for a long time, occasionally having mini-marathons of his films and never ceasing to enjoy ourselves.  As we discussed prior to seeing Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, there are really 3 Cages. 1. CLASSIC CAGE: This is the Cage seen primarily during the 80’s.  He is not afraid to go over the top.  He...
