Anvil! The Story of Anvil
Anvil! The Story of Anvil is a great documentary about the early 80’s metal band Anvil! that never quite broke through. After showing them in their heyday, the film picks up today with the guys now in their 50’s still going after their rockstar dreams. Described in many reviews as a “real life Spinal Tap”, I was surprised to find it more touching than hilarious. While there were definitely comedic moments, I didn’t want to laugh at these guys, because I really wanted them to succeed. It has 98% approval on Rotten Tomatoes, so you should probably go see it.
